PEACEMAKERS INCORPORATED was founded in 1987 by journalist and author Vivian Castleberry to organize international women’s peace conferences which have attracted over 4000 attendees from 57 countries including 3 Nobel Peace Laureates. Between conferences, the organization empowers peacemakers of all ages with peace education programs in collaboration with other non profits, schools and universities. In 2008, Peacemakers created the Castleberry Peace Institute, which has been adopted by the University of North Texas. Vivian Castleberry is now 88. She is our inspiration, our mentor, and our champion and continues to accomplish more than many who are half her age! What’s the secret of her longevity? Besides her peaceful purpose, it’s a great family, great friends and great wine.
